The Simple Joys in Life: A Swap

My friend Brenda and I decided to have a card swap once a month and to make it a little more fun, we're making each swap a challenge. This month's challenge was to use the Cricut cartridge Kate's ABCs, incorporate embossing and we had to use a stamp somewhere on the card. We thought it would be fun to put more than one or two restrictions/challenges and it was fun!
I love mushrooms and this cut on Kate's ABCs is one of my favorite mushroom cuts. The sentiment is from PTI's Green Thumb. I don't remember the name of this embossing folder. I think it's called Daisies. I sponged some Island Indigo ink from SU! over the top to give it some depth, which I think comes across better in the second pic.  I added some Stickles to the mushrooms and butterfly and this card was ready to be mailed! I can't wait to get Brenda's card. Yay!!

A few more quick cards

I am on a roll creating quick cards. I just love how simple these are. I have one sheet left of my white cardstock. Thank goodness my Papertrey order just shipped. Yikes!

The first card's image is a Whipper Snapper stamp called "Little Girl with Dotted Present". She's just so adorable, isn't she?  The sentiment is from Emma's set called Wow, So Many Candles.

The second image and sentiment are both from Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb set.

The final image is from the Sweethearts cartridge and that adorable face is Peachy Keen's Cute & Cuddly samp set. The inside is a PTI Fillable frames set and the sentiment is from Emma's So Grateful for You set.

My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #40: It's Delicious

Kimberly's challenge over at My Craft Spot this week is to make something delicious out of paper! Well, I was in need of a Thank You card and I don't know of anything sweeter than a juicy, sweet strawberry! My mouth is watering just thinking of a big old bowl of them. The yummy fruits are from the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb set. The paper is a My Mind's Eye 6x6 stack called Quite Contrary. I added some twine because I was finally in a twine-kind-of-mood. Sometimes I add twine and I don't feel it enhances my project, but I see other projects with it and love it. I'm very pleased with this simple, sweet card.

The Simple Joys of Life

I made this "anything" card with my new Freshly Picked cartridge. I love mushrooms and this cut was so easy to layer I couldn't wait to use it. That adorable butterfly is from the Create a Critter cartridge and the postage stamp-like base is from Gypsy Wanderings. The base is Berry Sorbet from Papertrey Ink. I had that ribbon in my stash from my local scrapbooking store. I've had it for about a year and love it so much that I couldn't bring myself to "waste" it. I only bought a yard. LOL. How absurd! Anyway, I love that background paper which is a subtle blue that looks like the sky and it's layered on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock from Stampin Up. Crumb Cake is almost identical to Kraft cardstock, which I'm almost out of :/. Those tiny buttons are from a generic bag I purchased from Joann's. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb set. I added some black stitching around to make the card pop because it seemed a little dull. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Thanks for looking!
