Throwback Thursday Challenge

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge this week over at My Creative Time is to use a kid friendly cartridge and make a kid friendly themed project. I just had to use this little cutie from Playtime. I just love this cartridge. I searched high and low for it a while back and was finally able to get it from Ebay. I was SO excited because I love almost every cut it has!

The sentiment is from Emma's set called Turn that Frown Upsdie Down. That set is so versatile. I would say it's my favorite set, but I'd be lying because I love all of Emma's stamps. I can't wait for her next release this week! Her sad little face is from Peachy Keen's Cutie Pie face assortment. Don't you just want to hug her?!

I'm so happy to be entering this challenge. I missed her Design Team Call two weeks ago. I was so swamped that week. I was planning a surprise trip to Florida for my mom's birthday (which went great!), it was my husband's birthday, I had company coming, and I got out of work late every night. I was so, so disappointed because to design for Emma would be so exiciting and mean a lot to me. I do feel that it just wasn't meant to be. I hope I can try out next time. In the meantime, I still get to enjoy her inspirational blog and awesome stamps! Ok, sorry for the tangent. LOL

Overflowing with Love: MPS Challenge/Design Team Submission

This is a card I made for a My Pink Stamper challenge. The challenge was to make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite cartridge using Robyn's favorite colors: pink, green and brown and another color option of your choice. I chose blue as my fourth color. This card is also an entry to serve on Robyn's Pink Design Team!

For this card, the base measures 7 inches x 8 inches (finished card is 4x7 inches). The top pink layer is cut out at 6 1/4 x 2 1/4. I cut out two 1x7 inch strips of blue and pink cardstock and scallop punched both to give the bottom of the card a little more interest. The turtle is cut out with Paisley Cricut cartridge and was cut at 1.75 inches and the wheel barrow was cut from Walk in My Garden and measures 1.5 inches. The hearts inside were cut at various sizes from 1/2 inch to 1 inch using Doodlecharms. I used a white gel pen to hi-light the edges of the card and I used a wet embossing technique with iridescent embossing powder and a Versamark stamp to make the large dots on the turtle's shell. The turtle's adorable face was stamped with Peachy Keen's Cutie Pie Faces. I tied some button twine around the turtle's collar so he could drag the wagon full of love to all of his friends for Valentine's Day!!

Here's a close up of some of the overflowing hearts that I popped up with some Pop Dots.

Thanks for looking!
