This challenge is a sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps. I had another inspiration for this card. The March 2011 issue of Card Maker magazine featured a card designed by Christine Okken that you can see on the link above. Her card was on the cover and I fell in love with it. The colors, the stamp, and her use of Flower Soft. I didn't have any Flower Soft, so I bought some from their website here and I also purchased a tree stamp which I didn't have either. LOL. I just bought DCWV Blossom Song stack while in Florida visiting my mom. I am in love with this stack. The colors are my favorites: pinks, greens and aquas. I went shopping in Michael's and initially didn't buy this stack. I went home (to my mom's) and could not stop thinking about it so I dragged my mom back the next day. She's so great. :) I am SO happy I bought it. Ok, here's my card, complete with Flower Soft, tree stamp, and the sentiment is from My Creative Time's Color Me Happy set. The card is for my mom, of course! Thanks for looking and have a great day.

PKS: Let's Face it Friday Challenge
Whew. I'm getting this one in just under the wire. I had so much fun creating this card. It's a submission for Peachy Keen's Let's Face It Friday Challenge. The challenge was to create a project using faux or real stitching. I used the Meow cartridge and the face is from the Wide Eyed and Bushy Tail assortment, one of my most favorite sets!
I heat embossed the black oval with a background stamp and clear embossing powder then hilighted the perimeter with faux stiching using a white gel pen and then added some green ruffled ribbon behind the layer. The "You Rock" stamp is from My Pink Stamper's line of stamps. Isn't the cat's hat adorable?! Thanks for looking!

Welcome Baby
I found this adorable stamp at AC Moore this weekend and just had to use it! The sentiment is from Stampin Up! I swear the card is cuter in person. I need to learn how to take better pictures. Argh! Anyway, I embossed the green with the polka dots then used Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add some sparkle. I didn't use my Cricut at all! Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday
I can't get enough of Papertrey Ink's Cupcake Collection stamp set. I used it with Stampin Up! cardstock and the sentiment is from Stampin Up! as well. I love this color combo: Cherry Cobbler, Peach Parfait and Pure Poppy. The dots on top is Stampin Up! Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set. I added some rhinestone bling to finish this card off.
Have a great day!

Birthday Hugs and Wishes
I love this Penny Black stamp. Isn't he the cutest? I used my Copics to color his body, then my Prisma watercolor pencils for the bees and flower. Paper is from Basic Grey. I can't remember which 6x6 paper pad; sorry. Pale green adhesive gems around the perimeter to add some sparkle. The sentiment is from Stampin Up! It's heat embossed because I think stamping in white isn't nearly as vibrant. This next picture is with my flash. I think the color is more accurate with the flash. I don't know why the pics I take with my flash always have a shady spot in one corner. Argh!
Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

Share the love...Blog Award!
Thank you Jo, at I'd Rather Be Making Cards for the Stylish Blogger Award. I'm so excited! Should I give an acceptance speech? Ok, instead I'll just follow protocol and tell you 8 things about myself, then pass the award onto 8 blogs I enjoy!
1. I am a physician assistant and have been one for 12 years.
2. I am obsessed, almost pathologically so, with cardmaking.
3. I have been happily married for 10 years and honestly don't know what I would do without my husband.
4. I faced one of my biggest fears - working in an emergency room - and am a better person for having faced it. How it went is a whole other story.
5. I am afraid of the dark. And lots and lots of other things. :/
6. I love Ina Garten. You know, the Barefoot Contessa. I had a dream that her and I were friends and I was in her living room. I woke up giddy.

My Pink Stamper Challenge
Hi everyone. Welcome to my newest followers and thank you all for your lovely comments. I really appreciate all of the compliments. Robyn's challenge over at My Pink Stamper was to create any project using a feathered friend. It was a perfect opportunity to use my newest acquisition, Kate's ABCs! Boy, was this cartridge difficult to find. It was no where to be found in Joann's in upstate NY and was out of stock at Joann.com. My sister was kind enough to buy it at Joann's in Pennsylvania and I got it on sale for $35. This cartridge is so adorable. The polka dot paper is from DCWV All About Girls. I used my paper crimper to add texture to the yellow and the Seeing Spots embossing folder for the pink layer. The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Color Me Happy set.
This is the image sheet from Kate's ABCs. Isn't it adorable?
Nate's ABCs is on its way! I need an intervention...
