Wishing you a day filled with happiness...and a new goodie!

I got the idea for this card from Emma at My Creative Time. I used my Gypsy to weld two shapes together using the Lacey Labels cartridge. The flower and her hat are from Forever Young and her face, of course, is from Peachy Keen stamps, Cutey Pie. My husband surprised my on Thursday with the Cricut Imagine. I was stunned! I had hinted that I may have been interested in it, but I really wasn't sure I needed (LOL) it. Anyway, I came up to my craft room and a few minutes later, he was at the doorway holding this HUGE box. I immediately knew what it was because this isn't the first time he's done something like that. Isn't that sweet? I told him it wasn't the sweetest thing he's ever done, because he does SO many sweet things for me, but it was one of the biggest surprises he's ever given me. Needless to say, I've been having fun with it! I had some problems with it initially, but I'm hoping it's all worked out now. Anyway, that patterned paper is from the Imagine More cartridge. Instead of printing it on white paper, I used patterned paper as the base. I really love the look of the new patterned paper it made. I'm so thrilled I discovered doing this. I'm sure everyone's been doing this and I'm way behind. LOL. But, I love it and am really excited to try other subtle patterned paper as bases in the future! The sentiment is from Pink By Design. I used the Graduation set and cut off the rest of the sentiment which was not appropriate for every day life. But, I can still use it whenever I need it. Without further adieu, here is my card.
Here's a picture of me opening the box. Well, you'll have to trust that it's me. LOL
Yay!!

My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge

Emma's challenge this week was to use any Cricut Lite cartridge and incorporate bling. Easy enough! For my card, I used the Playtime Cartridge for the little girl. Her face is stamped with Peachy Keen's Happy Lashes face stamp set. I used Doodlecharms for her teddy bear and his face was stamped with Peachy Keen's Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed set. I flocked his little belly with pink to give him some fuzzy dimension. The sentiment I used is from Turn That Frown Upside Down from My Creative Time and the shape it's stamped on is from Lacey Labels, an awesome cartridge. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Just the Girls stack. I found that on a lark at Home Goods. It was only $12.99 and I believe every sheet is glittered. I love that stack! So, the glitter paper, the flocking, the rhinestone gem in the center of my little girl's hair flower and her pearl dress border are the bling for this project. I had fun with this challenge!

Peachy Keen Challenge #53

Peachy Keen's sketch challenge with a twist this week: follow the sketch here and the twist is to use a sponging technique. I used Peachy Keen's Fun Flower Ginger for this challenge. I paper pieced the image and sponged each element to give the image more dimension. I had so much fun doing this! Then I sponged the edges of the white cardstock and that adorable sentiment is a set from My Creative Time called Turn That Frown Upside Down. I've had that set for a while and just got around to using it. I love it! I took two pictures. The first is with natural sunlight and there's an awful shadow, but it shows the colors more true. The second is without the shadow. I cannot figure out how to get a good photo. :(
Thanks for looking!
